ANCDS Board Certification Eligibility
To be eligible for Board Certification by ANCDS, applicants must:
- Certification/membership status by country:
- Australia – Individuals who hold current certified membership from the Speech Pathology Association of Australia Limited;
- Canada – Individuals who hold current membership and clinical certification in speech-language pathology from Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC);
- Ireland – Individuals who are full members of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT);
- New Zealand – Individuals who are full members of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA);
- United Kingdom – Individuals who hold current certified membership from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT);
- United States – Individuals who hold current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or current state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology;
- Other – Individuals from other countries may be eligible to apply. All application materials and written case studies must be submitted in English. Contact [email protected] for further instructions;
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent clinical experience with neurologic communication disorders;
- Submit a CV or resume;
- Complete the ANCDS CEC form included with the application;
- Submit three (3) letters of recommendation from health care providers with first-hand knowledge of the applicant’s competence and skills, at least one of whom must be a speech-language pathologist, qualified to attest to the applicant’s competence in the clinical management of neurologic communication disorders; and
- Submit the Board Certification Candidacy Application materials and the applicable fees.
Upon receipt of the Board Certification Candidacy Application, the Board of Clinical Certification may request additional information. Upon approval of the application by the Board of Clinical Certification, the applicant will be designated a Certification Candidate and so notified by letter or email.
