What does ANCDS stand for?ANCDS is the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders & Sciences. What is ANCDS?We are a non-profit professional association. When was ANCDS founded?ANCDS was founded in 1988 by a core group of prominent colleagues with the goal of establishing a professional organization dedicated to promoting quality services for individuals with neurologic communication disorders. What does ANCDS do?The ANCDS Mission Statement: What is the organizational structure?The ANCDS is made up of an Executive Board, Standing Committees, Certification Board, and Dedicated Members. Who can be a member?There are two primary membership categories. Full membership is restricted to those who hold a Master’s degree or doctoral degree in communication disorders and sciences or a field related to neurologic communication disorders and sciences from a properly accredited academic institution. Student membership is available to individuals enrolled in a full time academic program and demonstrating an interest in neurologic communication disorders. Board certification is not required for membership in ANCDS. Become a member today. Life Membership is available to a full member who is 68-years-old by January 1 and has been a Member in good standing for five (5) consecutive years. There are no dues payments for life members however, re-certification fees are still applicable. Those eligible for life membership may apply by submitting a written request to the Membership Committee. The Executive Board votes to approve Life Membership at its annual meeting in November (the membership change goes into effect in January of the next year).
